Santa Rosa Shambhala Generosity Policy

The Northern California Shambhala Regional centers have adopted a payment policy for our programs and membership donations. This policy strives to make these teachings available to as many people as possible while at the same time providing flexibility for differences inherent in each community, and it transforms the donation process into a contemplative practice of generosity.

Each of the Northern California Centers survives due to the financial contributions of our program participants, members, and friends. Program donations and members’ donations provide our monthly rent, utilities, practice and study materials, teacher expenses, and food for the programs. The fee for each program reflects our costs to offer that program.

For Programs

If you can offer the full donation, that is what we request. If it is possible for you to offer the more than the stated amount (“Patron Donation”), please consider this, as it allows us to make these programs available to those who may not have the means to afford the full program donation.

If, after contemplating this policy, you feel the tuition presents an obstacle to your attending the program, we encourage you to contact the program coordinator at least five (5) days prior to the start of the program and speak confidentially with her/him to establish another payment amount. No one will ever be turned away due to lack of funds.

For Membership & Donations

There are suggested monthly contributions for individuals and for families. Our members are invited to consider whether, due to their current financial circumstances, they can commit to a larger contribution or must offer a lesser amount. Based on this, we work with each member to establish a contribution level that they can sustain for the foreseeable future. If conditions change, a new monthly amount can be established.

We ask each member and program participant to help us
bring these teachings into the world

By offering the most we can give in our current financial circumstances, we help these teachings find a wider audience. These offerings allow us to provide these teachings to everyone regardless of their ability to pay. Please contemplate how much you can offer.

Santa Rosa Shambhala Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and exists only due to the generosity of donations from people like you. We deeply appreciate your support.
